In collaboration with Mr.Beam, we developed the interactive software for this immersive installation telling the story of an island lost to the sea. Utilizing optical flow, we enabled visitors to influence the ocean through body movement. From a top-down perspective, participants generate waves that flood the island of Schokland, allowing them to interact directly with the “relentless waters” that defined the location’s history.
